What is CBD?

CBD is a “cannabidiol” found in the cannabis plant family, known both as Marijuana and Hemp. Although separate plants, they both contain the compounds known as THC and CBD as well as many other phytocannabinoids. CBD is the most prevalent of over a hundred currently identified cannabinoids found in these plants so far.

The main difference between Marijuana and Hemp, is the ratios contained in each plant is not the same. Marijuana contains a very high ratio of THC, the mind altering component (psychoactive), and Hemp contains very little (non-psychoactive). This means CBD counteracts the psychoactivity of THC and will not make you feel stoned.
While we have known about CBD long before we discovered THC, it was considered to be an inactive cannabinoid until recently. Research from animal and human studies have demonstrated the following properties associated with CBD: anti-cancer, antiproliferative, anti-emetic (nausea and vomiting), anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antidiabetic,
anti-psoriatic, anti-diarrheal, analgesic, bone stimulant, immunosuppressive, anti-ischemic, anti-spasmodic, vaso-relaxant, cardio-protective, neuro-protective, antiepileptic, anti-psychotic, anxiolytic, and weight loss promoting.

Full spectrum CBD-rich Hemp containing small amounts of THC (.3%), along with other plant compounds phytocannabinoids), have shown to be the most effective in treating disease. Unlike Marijuana, Hemp is now legal in all 50 states.
